~ a better you ~
We are big Harry Potter nerds here at EI. Seriously. We're the girls who quote the characters in conversations with one another, get chills when we see the previews (16 days!), and read the books over and over again.
What's so incredible about the phenomenon of Harry Potter (at least to us) are the story's overarching themes of love, family, and the perserverence of good over evil. These books are more than children's stories. They are beautifully written tales of the beauty and fragility of life.
In honor of the upcoming movie, today's Better You post is based on some of the great things Harry and friends have taught us.
~ everything i need to know i learned from harry potter ~
~ Our choices show what we truly are far more than our abilities. ~ Never aim a broken wand at an enemy. ~ Sometimes those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. ~ Believe in magic,
but don't rely on it. Some of the greatest things in life are simply human. ~ Treat everybody
(including house elves) the way you want to be treated. ~ A warm butter beer will brighten any day.
~ True friends never leave your side. ~ Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself. ~ Adults should try to remember what it was like to be children. Protect them while giving them the information they need. ~
Embrace learning. ~ Don't dwell on dreams so much that you forget to live.
~ Family and friends are the most important things in the world. ~ Love conquers all.
