~ day 6: food ~
A couple of years ago Angie and I started a white chocolate popcorn holiday tradition. I'm not exactly sure why we picked white chocolate popcorn, but it stuck. We are addicted to the sweet treat and make it every December.
This popcorn recipe is easy and makes a great holiday gift. I decided to jazz it up a bit for 12 Days of Holiday DIY by also adding a drizzle of milk chocolate and breaking up pretzels over the top. The result? A double chocolate masterpiece with bits of crunchy, salty pretzels in every mouthful. Make a big batch and deliver it to your friends or neighbors on an icy day.
Double Chocolate & Pretzel Popcorn
Ingredients (for approximately 4-6 servings)
1/2 cup unpopped popcorn
1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate bar
1/4 cup milk chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bar
Handful of pretzels
Salt, as needed (remember, the pretzels are already salty!)
Prepare fresh popcorn with an air popper or on the stove. Spread popcorn on cookie sheets (this ensures even coverage). Melt white chocolate and drizzle over the popcorn. Mix, and let it set while you melt the milk chocolate. Drizzle melted milk chocolate over the popcorn. Crumble pretzels over the top. Mix. Add a dash of salt if needed. Package, and share the love.
