There have been countless studies done on the benefits of laughter, but rather than get into all that, I want to share my top three reasons for why you should use laughter when you need a pick-me-up.
1. Laughter helps you forget your worries. Even if it's for a second, it's nice to forget about what's troubling you.
2. Laughter makes you realize your pain/anger/sadness/frustration is temporary. It's easier to remember how strong you are when you can laugh at yourself or at your situation. You realize that you can make it through anything.
3. Laughter keeps you young. Laughing reminds you to enjoy life, and when you're busy enjoying life, your health improves. 'Nuff said.
